You might be worried that the fuel pressure is too high, but the auto parts under your car are not good. Mustang and Mercury Capri, from 1984 to 1985, Mustangs and Capris with a carburetor must be equipped with 256-1670 adapter kit or any aftermarket equivalent. This adapter can not be installed on Ford EFI vehicles.

The STA71313 Ford EFI adapter allows a compatible Star bottle to be connected to an electronically controlled Ford car. The Ford EFI Adapter is manufactured in the USA by Star Products. If you have a recently manufactured Ford with electronic fuel injection, use this adapter. Do not attempt to attach a standard automotive bottle or regulator directly to the port on the fuel rail as damage to the fuel system will occur. All Star Dry Sump systems require this adapter.

This Ford EFI adapter by Star Products allows you to install your stock fuel line to your CFI port on your carburetor. Product removes the complexity of running new fuel lines from your gas tank to your gas/fuel filter. This product works with a variety of Star Products 5/16" quick disconnects and can be used with most 0-30 PSI pressure regulators seen in the market place today.

Fits fuel injection, EFI Ford (GM, Chrysler, etc.) systems with 5/16"-24 fuel connections, Replaces the original Ford CFI adapter and allows use of a quick disconnect fitting on the wiring harness, adapts the older 7/16"-27 fuel line to the newer 5/16" diameter one.
